The role of the Family Support Worker is to remain focused on the needs of the child at all times and to be aware that the needs of the child and safeguarding are paramount. You will be working directly with families with complex needs, undertaking supported assessments both at the centres and in the community. We offer competitive rates of pay and, along with peer support and the opportunity to work as part of a team, you will receive supervision and excellent training organised by our experienced Assessment Team to develop and build upon your existing skills.

Family Support Worker

Practitioner/ Clinical Psychologist

Band 7 – 8a / £34,000 - £50,000 (relocation package and pension offered)

An opportunity within a national centre of excellence for family assessment and intervention for a thoughtful, reflective, child-centred psychologist with strong assessment experience. We are looking for two psychologists to join our established MDT to carry out assessments and provide therapy to parents and children on the edge of care within our residential assessment centre, but also for the most vulnerable families in the South West.  It would be helpful to have experience of expert witness work although training can be provided.

Orchard House is one of the only Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ family assessment centres in the UK and we are committed to employing professionals who support and add to quality of the work that we do.

These is also scope within the role to lead in the building up of an independent therapeutic service for adults, children and families, Somerset Clinic. You will have the opportunity to use your skills and training to develop and design a service that provides evidence-based interventions in a responsive and person-centred setting.
