social worker
Salary: £35,000 - £37,995
FULL-TIME PERMANENT ROLE
We are a team of passionate professionals committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.
Orchard House is proud to be one of the few Family Assessment Centres in the UK rated Outstanding by Ofsted in every category (2025 and 2026). This reflects not only the quality of our work, but the skill, integrity, and compassion of our team. We are looking for someone who shares these values and wants to be part of a genuinely supportive and high-performing service.
At the heart of our work is a deep commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and their families. We provide a safe, nurturing environment where families are supported to develop and demonstrate their parenting capacity, within a multidisciplinary, collaborative team.
As a Social Worker at Orchard House, you will:
Contribute to high-quality, evidence-based assessments that directly shape the futures of children and families
Build meaningful relationships using a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach
Provide detailed observations to support well-reasoned recommendations
Play an active role in safeguarding and risk management
Work closely with Consultant Social Workers, Clinical Psychologists, and Family Support and Intervention colleagues
Importantly, this role does not involve holding an independent caseload. Instead, you will work across assessments within a supportive team structure, allowing you to focus on quality, depth, and meaningful engagement.
We welcome applications from both experienced Social Workers and those earlier in their careers, including newly qualified Social Workers looking to develop their practice in a well-supported environment.
We place a strong emphasis on learning, reflection, and professional growth, and are committed to supporting your development through:
Regular reflective supervision
Weekly case mapping and team discussion
A thorough structured induction with hands-on shadowing
In-house CPD and specialist training, including external ParentAssess Assessor training
An individual Professional Development Plan
