IT Manager

SALARY: £31,000 - £36,000 (DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE)

TERM: PERMANENT – FULL TIME

LOCATION: TAUNTON - ONSITE

 

We’re seeking a skilled and proactive IT Manager to lead the technical operations across two respected care and clinical service providers: Orchard House Family Assessment Centre and Somerset Clinic. This full-time, onsite role offers the opportunity to shape and secure our IT infrastructure while supporting life-changing work in the social care and psychological services sectors.

As our senior technical expert, you will manage multi-site systems, ensure cybersecurity and compliance, and collaborate with external consultants. You will also provide hands-on support, mentor staff, and drive strategic improvements across Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365 environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

·  Lead IT operations across two respected social care and clinical service organisations in Taunton, Somerset 

·  Manage and optimise infrastructure across Windows, macOS, and Microsoft 365 environments 

·  Ensure robust cybersecurity and full compliance with UK GDPR and sector regulations 

·  Provide expert technical support and mentoring to staff across multiple sites 

·  Oversee network architecture, telephony systems, and CCTV infrastructure 

·  Collaborate with external consultants and manage supplier relationships 

·  Drive strategic planning, budgeting, and technology refresh cycles

 

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in complex IT infrastructure and support environments 

  • Professional conduct with integrity, clear communication, and respect for organisational values

  • Expert-level administration of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, and macOS 

  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills including user management and security configuration 

  • Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, VLANs) and virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) 

  • Experience with IP surveillance and NVR/DVR management 

  • Proficiency in cybersecurity tools, monitoring systems, and UK GDPR compliance 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
